Soccer / Uefa Champions LeagueLiverpool bossed the opening half hour against Inter Milan, repeatedly having chances without success. Inter replied through a series of fouls, and Materazzi picked up his second yellow after 30 minutes. Cambiasso had the Italians first effort after the break, but the Reds continued in the ascendancy, seeing Cesar save fantastically from Torres before Vieiras cast-iron handball in the box was waved away. Further chances from Hyypia and Torres came and went. But after 84th minutes of almost total control of the match, Liverpool finally saw the net bulge when Dirk Kuyt shot past Cesar after collecting Pennants cross. Minutes later Steven Gerrard scored the second with a long range shot which looked suspiciously like a cross.
