Dani Alves headed into his own net to give Almeria a 24th-minute lead, and it was almost worse for the hosts as they conceded a penalty on the half-hour mark but Alvaro Negredo crashed it off the post. But immediately after the restart Negredo did double Almeria’s lead, and 10 minutes of madness saw the hosts concede two goals, miss a penalty and have Adriano sent off before Fredi Kanoute grabbed a consolation.
