Spartak Moscow 1 - 4 Dinamo Kiev

In the battle between former USSR comrades, Spartak took the lead when Nikita Bazhenov collected a poorly attempted interception, cut inside, and curled a right footed shot into the far corner. But the Russians soon conspired to make their own defensive blunder, keeper Stipe Pletikosa came rushing out of his goal, Ismael Bangoura beat him to the ball, and the ball slowly made its way into the net. And it got better for the Ukrainians on the stroke of half-time, Bangoura’s shot was spilled and Artem Milevsky was on hand to score at the far post. A minute after the restart Kiev pulled further ahead, Bangoura once against exposed the gaps in the Spartak defence, bursting through and slotting home. Artem Milevsky grabbed the fourth with five minutes to go.
