After a pretty awful first 45 at White Hart Lane, Jermain Defoe stabbed Spurs into the lead in injury time from a corner that Corluka flicked on, after Rovers had lost keeper Robinson earlier in the half. The Lilywhites doubled their lead nine minutes into the second half when a static Rovers side watched as Defoe played in Roman Pavlyuchenko who drilled a shot through stand-in keeper Brown. Ten minutes from time Blackburn pulled themselves back into the game when Christopher Samba out-jumped Dawson and Corluka from a corner to head home past Gomes. Spurs responded by restoring their 2-goal cushion within five minutes as Bale played in Pavlyuchenko who couldn?t miss from two yards out.
