Bolton scored a terrific goal to open the scoring in a massive relegation six-pointer at West Ham, Chung-Yong Lee continued to add weight to his burgeoning reputation fizzing a flat cross over from the right that Kevin Davies powered home with a solid header. Bolton doubled their lead thanks to some awful defending from the Hammers, Tomkins failed to shepherd the ball out of play, Davies crossed for Tamir Cohen to knock down for Jack Wilshere who volleyed in his first Bolton goal. With two minutes remaining, Alessandro Diamanti curled a lovely left-footed effort past Jaaskelainen but it proved too little, too late.
